Nominate an Expat of the Year

The Expat of the Year Award will be awarded to an expat or international resident of the Netherlands in acknowledgement of an outstanding contribution to the community.

Nominees in the award category “Expat of the Year” need to meet a number of requirements. If you intend to nominate someone for the Expat of the Year Award, please note that the 2010 Expat of the Year should:

  • normally reside primarily in the Netherlands;
  • have moved to the Netherlands for work or personal reasons;
  • be active in the expat/international community in the Netherlands;
  • have contributed significantly to the expat/international community through professional, volunteer or other extra-curricular activities; and
  • be an appropriate ambassador for the expat and international community in the Netherlands.

Nominations for the category Expat of the Year will be accepted until 5pm on December 31, 2009. Following this all nominees will be presented to an independent Jury who will select four finalists based on the criteria listed above. All finalists will then be invited to submit a short film about themselves which is to be posted online. The ultimate winner is to be decided by public vote and will be announced at the Expat Awards ceremony at Nyenrode on March 23.
